BUG: Playlist generator creates reversed Z-to-A order

Sometime in the last month Retroarch got an update that made the Playlist generator create a REVERSED playlist, were Z is top and A is bottom.

I think the Developers missed the bug because XMB automatically arranges the names but RGUI is reversed.

Can someone please confirm?

So the actual text of the playlist is in reverse order in a text editor?

This is the only commit I can find from around that time that seems related to playlists/scanning:

Yes. It was not in previous versions.
I think the problem is when creating the playlist.

I have the same problem too in retroarch 169, the playlist are not sorted but are showed in entry order. In retroarch 167 all was fine, there is a way to sort playlist in retroarch 169? The problem is present in Windows and androis port.

It appears that RGUI skin does not sort the playlist, but XMB does… after playing a game…

  1. Change back to XMB.
  2. Restart Retroarch.
  3. Run a game from the new playlist.
  4. Close game.
  5. Change back to RGUI.
  6. Restart Restroarch.

Thank you for the hint, i hope it will be fixed soon.

Also seeing this issue. Any idea on if it will be fixed in next version?

Sorry for the necrobump, but just wanted to direct users with this issue to an app I made to sort the playlists properly : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=retroarch.playlist.sorter
