nvidia-driver 390-48 on RECALBOX retroarch launch and crash

You’ll need to open your retroarch.cfg in a text editor and change video_driver = “sdl2” to “gl”

That still looks to be using SDL. Which file are you editing? Also, the # in front of a line means it’s commented, so # video_driver = "gl" still isn’t doing anything.

the edit file is /etc/retroarch.cfg for the symbol # I saw my error correct but always the same result at the log

That file is just a skeleton config for reference. The one that RetroArch reads is in ~/.config/retroarch (unless recalbox does something weird with it like retropie does).

You can try adding video_driver = “gl” to that and see if it treats you any better. Other than that, I would suggest asking around the RecalBox forums, if there is such a thing.

thanks i have successfully launched retroarch via this conf file /recalbox/share/system/configs/retroarch/retroarchcustom.cfg for my part its mooring with the driver xvideo however impossible to see the menu in game retroarch the menu is well enabled as the game is paused but the retroach menu does not appear in sdl2 the game is launch but in paused and y have the retroarch menu ? thank you for your help

if you’re using the xvideo driver, try changing menu_driver = “xmb” to “rgui”

even with the menu rgui and the driver xvideo nothing is displayed on the screen

Can you try setting your video driver to “gl” and then post a log?

I specify that when I run retroarch via the comand the menu retroarch launches well but in emulationstation direct return

I don’t know anything about emulationstation. If RetroArch is working fine when you launch it alone, that means it’s working okay so emulationstation must be doing something odd.
