Polish Translation/characters

Please, correct the Polish translation and add Polish characters to RetroArch PS3, translation is mixed with English language, instead of characters there are empty spaces.

Want to help in translation?

here is the file that is currently being used:

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libretro/RetroArch/master/intl/msg_hash_pl.c

but seems like polish is missing one entire file that you need to translate from english

(only the strings between " " )

https://raw.githubusercontent.com/libretro/RetroArch/blob/master/intl/msg_hash_us.h

you can use Git to fork https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch and do a pull request: Help

or if you want you can edit them and pass them to me i will do the pr

Of course I can help with translation

I recommend something like notepad++ to edit the files since they have line end unix type lf, so opening them with an editor that doesn’t support it will result in a failure to display the file correctly.

All right, but this translation is not for the PS3 version, and the translation you sent me is almost ok. I can correct it. But I would like the version from PS3 which is nightmarish. Correct this translation and send you a file. I am also asking for a translation for PS3

I introduced small corrections for this translation

If there is no font in the Retroarch for PS3 Poland, here’s what you need

And that’s how it looks without signs and a mixed translation:

Those are from the master branch, they may have differences with the stable, try the nightly builds:

https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/playstation/ps3/

i will help you along the way, but i don’t have a ps3 nor i know anything about Polish, that part is up to you.

It is important that you edit the files with notepad++ as i said, because windows notepad will mess up de encoding as i have seen in the file you attached.

https://notepad-plus-plus.org/download/v7.5.3.html

i will provide you with both files in their correct encoding:

First Translation

The latter will take me a little more time

I finished the translation of the file. I found a font file in Retroarch PS3 but I do not know why it appears incorrectly. I do not know who is involved in this project, but I would ask for the display to be repaired. And how to implement these files for Retroarch PS3?

Created the pull request: https://github.com/libretro/RetroArch/pull/5933

The next build after it’s merged should have your changes, after the merge download the windows nightly (most updated) version at:

https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/windows/x86_64/

In regards of the misssing ps3 font, it should work by default, an issue should be opened in the repo. but as a workaround can you try going to config>user interface>appearance>menu font and select one that supports the appropriate glyphs?

Alternatively you can try another icon theme, they contain other fonts that may have the glyphs that are needed, try Retrosystem for example

I use the menu icon theme RetroSystem but there are still no Polish characters. I also chose “Menu Font”“Select a different main font to be used by the menu”. I chose the one with retroarch and mine but there are still question marks instead of Polish characters. PC version Retroarch fonts are displayed, Ps3 supports Polish font but someting, but something is wrong in retroarch. The content itself in retroarch files is full of things that are not for PS3, Mix garbage files

Please open an issue in regards of the wrong/missing glyphs here: https://github.com/libretro/retroarch/issues tag bparker06 he aided in this matter for the korean language.
