Scanlines and bright red

Was it normal for a crt to not show scanlines across some colors namely bright red even with an RGB connection?

When messing with crt aperture or hyllian, I find the only way to get scanlines to show on bright red colors is making the picture too dark.

Depends on the CRT and the signal being fed to it, but yeah, bright lines barely had any gaps between them on regular TVs, at least.

Sometimes the red phosphor will bleed over the scanline (black gap) completely; I’ve seen a lot of CRTs do this even when properly calibrated.
