Workaround for contentless cores in the xmb

To have content-less cores on the list like this:

Create a play-list in this format:

MrBoom.lpl

.\cores\mrboom_libretro.dll
Mr.Boom
.\cores\mrboom_libretro.dll
DETECT
DETECT
MrBoom.lpl

2048.lpl

.\cores\2048_libretro.dll
2048
.\cores\2048_libretro.dll
DETECT
DETECT
2048.lpl

Basically this makes the content to be loaded the core.

Notice the backward slashes, that is because of windows is used in the example.

It is important that the playlist needs to be coded in UTF8-without BOM

Is there any way to put ALL these special ‘cores’ into a single playlist?

I think it’d be great to have things like Mr. Boom and OpenLara in a single list.

My RA setup only has like 3 columns for home, settings, and history. I’d rather not add a ton more.

Yes but there will not be specific artwork and you need to make the thumbnail folder and maintain it. For example:

Default.lpl

.\cores\2048_libretro.dll
2048
.\cores\2048_libretro.dll
DETECT
DETECT
Default.lpl
.\cores\mrboom_libretro.dll
Mr.Boom
.\cores\mrboom_libretro.dll
DETECT
DETECT
Default.lpl
.\downloads\dinothawr\dinothawr.game
Dinothawr (En)
.\cores\dinothawr_libretro.dll
Dinothawr
DBABB733|crc
Default.lpl
.\cores\xrick_libretro.dll
Rick Dangerous
.\cores\xrick_libretro.dll
DETECT
DETECT
Default.lpl

In fact you can add tons of things to the playlist, providing that you respect the structure.

File (content)
Name
Core
Core Name
CRC
Playlist Name

Cool!

I was wondering the other day if this could be done. IMHO, this playlist (or playlists) should come out-of-the box in LAKKA.

PS: are there more non-content cores?

.\cores\xrick_libretro.dll
Rick Dangerous
.\cores\xrick_libretro.dll
DETECT
DETECT
