If the romset hasn’t changed it works fine but if it has changed it may work, or maybe it works wrong, or it gives an error somewhere or it doesn’t work at all. In this case, use a roms manager to check it, it is better to play it safe.
Recently I was thinking that FBNeo was the system with the best updated miniatures, it has almost everything. These are all ‘europe’ cases.

Not sure if there are many rom managers for Linux but I usually change my roms when they don’t load anymore. How did you know that Gals Panic was on my favourites list?
My grandmother had a phrase for these circumstances, which I prefer not to remember now.
If you don’t do things right, don’t expect them to work right.
Use JRomManager download, it’s native for Linux and it’s very, very easy. You load the dat and select the directories.
FBNeo is one of my go-to systems and it works perfectly, it has more than 90% of miniatures, with the exception of a few missing flyers.
I just pushed the missing “Europe” thumbnails and some others.
