To be honest, should we expect more of Google, unlike Apple or Microsoft whose primary customers are consumers or enterprises, Google’s revenue is primarily focused on providing consumer market data to other companies, you and I are the product, not the customers. Why do you think Google is able to get way with so much blatant copyright violation on Youtube for instance? Their existence is solely to spy on and know everything about you and provide all such information for profit, and of course any government entities (cough, NSA) who want such information as well. If their OS is trash, what do they care honestly.
I agree with you.
It is because of this level of awareness that with RetroArch I want to not only deliver a kickass frontend for emulators and games, but I also want to battle and be an opposing force to everything to do with convenience computing, monetization and all this crap.
I see programmers left and right selling out for the almighty dollar, compromising on their ideals, exploiting their users like cattle and generally the startups acting like bigger scumbags than the Fortune 500 companies and - know what? ENOUGH is ENOUGH - somebody must care enough of a shit to not only bitch about it, but do something about it.
I want RetroArch to spark a trend that will lead us out this electronic straitjacket. If and only when is it able to do that, I will be safisfied with what I have achieved.
