All the home consoles work great when i scan the directory. When i scan for cps1, 2, 3 and neogeo it finds nothing. I can play these games perfectly when i select them manually.

Same here. It happens with some console games as well. The only solution I found was editing the playlists manually (not a lot of work if you don’t have a shit ton of games).
MAME Core has no support for Roms-Scanning ,i think. You can use a FBA Set with the FBA Core instead or you can try a external tool to create a playlist for Mame Cores (2003,2014…) RetroArch Playlist Buddy - Playlist and thumbnail generation app
