Crashing when loading N64 game

I have a Lakka build on a Rock64. It’s the newest version of Lakka. Whenever I try to load games from N64 on either of the default cores (mupen and parallel?), Retroarch crashes, and sometimes even reboots the board. This is the log for trying to load the game. When I did this, however, in verbose mode, the game started right up, running poorly however. It is strange, and I cannot explain it.

That log looks okay. I’m pretty sure Conker’s Bad Fur Day doesn’t play very well with either core, though. Can you try something basic like Mario 64?

It is working fine now. I’m playing Mario Golf right now, and it is a little slow at times (even though I bumped down the resolution) but it works. I think what I did was delete the retroarch.cfg (retroarch config files) and then “restart” it. I had to turn it off to do some work on the case. Now it works fine

So I guess the solution is to delete the config file for retroarch. I did it through SAMBA, and found it in the appropriately named folder

Better add some cooling too like a heatsink or/and fan.

I have a fan blowing over it, so overheating isn’t the issue. In the future I will add a heatsink just to be safe though.

Im not familiar with the Rock64 board you are talking about but if you are talking about just having a regular oscillating fan blowing over it, it probably isn’t doing much to prevent overheating. I would make adding a heatsink a priority. I’m just trying to be helpful, please don’t misunderstand as me being rude.

I do not think that was rude at all HellfireEternal. I did add a heat sink, though it was after I got the games working so I know it was NOT a heat issue. Also the board crashed instantly, and I have never encountered a computer if any kind that overheated that quickly.

I have the same problem with N64 games, it loads up i can hear the sound in game and all even can play, but can’t see anything and i get error: display driver stopped responding and recovered

any other psx, ps2, gamecube…etc works well

What video driver in RetroArch are you using? What RDP plugin in the core are you using?
