1.0.0.2.1 and new cores

Alright if I download RetroArch for PC, or even use the one on iOS …

Am I able to use 1.5.0 to download the latest Core, then copy that from my 1.5.0 directory into the 1.0.0.2.1 core directory?

I originally wanted 1.5.0 because it has the latest Cores, and of course NetPlay seemed so awesome to try… but I have no friends who do this thing with RetroArch. Not only that, it’s becoming incredibly tedious to setup for me. There’s no FrontEnd, no direct link to BTStack and now relies on ControllersForAll (at least as far as I can see, and is a real shame).

Anyhow, can I just use it to get later cores and dump them into 1.0.0.2.1 instead? My cores are over 3-4 years old and I want to update them… (PS1, N64 mainly…)

Apparently the PS1’s latest core is only 1 week old, and it’s slightly smaller, too. Seems optimised?

N64 is newer too.

I also found this below:

Am I able to download these cores? Or are they wrong and I should just use the iOS app to make sure they’re compatible? Also, will the new updated cores be compatible with 1.0.0.2.1?

Correct path?
