Thanks Duimon. It can be a little overwhelming due to my lack of experience with retroarch and overlays. If you could give me some hints, I’ll be more than happy to share my “achievements” with the community. For example: A lot of vertical overlays already have a bezel or “frame” for the CRT. On the other hand, AFAIK, Reflection bezels need their own “frame” for the reflection, so I’m not sure how to make it automatic, like you said. Any tips will be much appreciated Duimon!!!
Hi K-mivoro
I would say in situations like you describe above. There isn’t really an automatic way to force the megabezel “reflections bezel” to overlay over an existing vertical overlay that has the original arcade bezel. If there is a way, I am unaware of it. What I do, and others have done is edit out the original arcade bezel using any photo editing application. From what I can tell, sorbeppe in the recent posts above is doing that exact thing. No doubt, it can be time consuming with some of this stuff. But the majority of vertical overlays shouldn’t require these types of edits.
I hate to take up space on this thread, but if you eliminate the “Frame” in the Mega Bezel, and use the overlay image for both the BackgroundImage and ScreenPlacementImage, all that should be needed is some adjusting of the bezel height and width.
The shader will use the transparency in the overlay image to set the screen scale and position.
That being said, the more time you spend tweaking the parameters, the better your result will be.
Shameless promotion here folks…
I just started a new youtube channel! @ArsInvictus, @Thoggo, @walter.farmacia have all been kind enough to all me to showcase their overlays via video shorts. I will be cataloging and archiving all overlays there. My overlay work will be there too!
Come stop by, subscribe and check out the playlist where you can play all or shuffle on the video shorts. Each game will run through attract mode using these beautiful overlays!
New overlays will be added daily!
And a GIFT for you all!
Super Nintendo SNES KIOSK
It is estimated that between 1000 and 5000 of this variation were made. Used in stores to promote upcoming SNES games. If you grew up in the 90’s. You likely saw one at a Toys R’ Us, or in a shopping mall.

@sorbeppe I’m loving everything you are contributing here. Really filling in some gaps of missing artwork. When you first sent that list, I honestly didn’t think you were about to dive into making them all LOL!
Amazing. Can I adapt to MAME?
Sure, you need to create a .lay file to couple with this png image
It’s possible to overlay the reflections on an existing bezel image, all you have to do is set the bezel and frame opacity to 0. You can see this in action on the NEO GEO preset in the examples package.
But in general, unless there’s something special about the bezel of the arcade machine (E.G. textured plastic bezel of the NEO GEO) then cutting out the bezel from the image and using the Mega Bezel’s generated bezel is the easier thing.

You can redownload the corrected version from the same google drive link of the original release.
Sorry for that
