After update, "failed to load core"

after update, “failed to load core”

What can I do?

We don’t have enough information from your post to give any guidance. What platform/OS? What did you update?

windows 8.1 I clicked 12/29 installer, and completed it. After it stopped working, I tried deleting all cores and re downloading, but did not help.

can you post a log of you trying and failing to load a core?

It looks like you have an mismatch between 32- and 64-bit. Either your RetroArch is 64-bit and you’re trying to run 32-bit cores or vice versa. You can either completely remove your RetroArch installation and reinstall or delete your retroarch.cfg and it should start pulling from the correct place when it generates a new cfg for you.

If you have a lot of settings that you don’t want to lose, you could also try deleting just this line from your retroarch.cfg:

core_updater_buildbot_url = "http://whatever"
