Ive been playing on game on retroarch to see if it works before I go through all the trouble of getting other stuff, etc etc. Well the two issues Ive had so far.1.it crashes when I use the mouse arrow to try to close out the on-screen controller during game play I changed the config on that. 2. as I am playing the game (darkwing duck) on quicknes it crashes when I die at certain spots. My box is a Beelink Amlogic S912 Android 6.0 GT1 on an Element 4k tv
Try some other NES cores. Nestopia and FCEUmm are both good choices.

I noticed you’re using the Beelink. How is that doing for gaming? Are you able to run N64 games on it? I’m looking for a fast Android Box and don’t really know where to start.
Yeah I wouldnt recommend it the frames are extra choppy
