Android PCSX ReARMed Issues (Nexus 4)

Hello,

I’ve recently installed RetroArch on my Nexus 4 and tested the Megadrive core, and Gameboy advance core, both worked perfectly aside from minor sound cracking issues but I suppose I can fix those by changing the refresh rate manually rather than auto-calibration.

I’ve tried running Chrono Cross but RetroArch simply shuts down as if I had pressed the exit button. No crash message whatsoever.

I’ll try to be as specific as I can to help identify the issue.

  • I have Chrono Cross in the MDS and MDF format, which as I read in the manual should be compatible with retroarch.
  • I tried running it with and without the bios file on the same folder. The result was the same.
  • I tried running it from both the MDS and the MDF file. The result was once more the same.
  • I’m using scph1001

I have the latest Google Store version of Retroarch and am running Android 4.2.2

Am I missing something? Doing something wrong?

update:

Turns out it’s either the MDS\MDF file that has some kind of issue or the emulator isn’t reading that kind of file. I tried running .ISO and .CUE.BIN and these formats work.

@Srt Hmm. That’s good news that it’s at least working with some of your images. Thanks for posting the update.

Are you using a gamepad when you get these crackling issues?
