Annoyed.

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this, but I’m going to anyway.

I freaking hate this app.

Now, I know what you’re going to say. “Then don’t use it” well guess what? I don’t. I open it up every now and then hoping that by some miracle it will stop sucking. But it doesn’t.

The interface, while it does suck as well, is the most bearable part of this train wreck. The configuration - the single most important part of an emulator - is the part that rustles my jimmies in the most unsettling fashion. Why are the controls mapped to some odd controller that the console you’re emulating doesn’t use? Why not map to buttons that are actually on the console’s controller? It’s like the person who designed this thing doesn’t even game or never used another emulator. Is it that much to ask to consider obvious things like this? Why is there no obvious and easy way to snap to fullscreen like in every other emulator? You have to set it yourself, and then the green menu thing is unusable because it’s now outside the screen. I don’t understand why the devs even made it possible for that to happen.

I want to like this app. But I also want it to be usable. And right now, it isn’t.

The whole idea of libretro is an API that doesn’t expose the peculiarities of each emulator (or game) to the frontend. If you don’t like it then maybe this isn’t the APP for you.

If there are bugs like the fullscreen you mention you can report them in a useful way instead of ranting and saying I hate this. I don’t understand what you mean with it’s now outside of the screen. RGUI is drawn in the same viewport as the core.
