Anyone found a solution for Manual Scaning with a DAT file?

Please see OP description of the bug.

A shot in the dark:

I had a problem loading mame overlays with the new video layout setting because i had Settings - File Browser - Filter unknow extension disabled.
Maybe it is the same situation here?

File Browser - Filter unknown extensions is set to enable by default. I can now see the DAT file after I disable it.

The problem now is that when I select the DAt file RetroArch crashes FML.

Did you manage to figure it out?

I don’t have arcade roms but I’m interested to know how these dat files work. For what I can see they store some metadata for the games, if it can allow roms to be loaded and understand their metadata (even if it’s only the names) it would actually be interesting also for other retroarch games that aren’t in the database too, not just arcade roms. You could export your entire collection into a dat, carry the dat along with your collection and whenever you install retroarch in a new device, load the same dat file to get your collection of games as you left them.

Is now working but I have to do more research.

I am using the FB Alpha 0.2.97.43 (Torrentzipped Split) set with the FBNeo official dat but not all the names are coming up. It just shows the abbreviated name of the rom.

I need to figure out what MAME rom set I need to create the proper FBNeo set.
