I Am Using A Droid RAZR Xt912 And My Part Dual Shock Controller For Pcsx And Trying To Play Ape Escape. I Have Tried Every Method That I Can Find To Map Both Sticks BUT Still Haven’t Been Successful. I Am A Noob To Emulating On My Phone So Maybe I Am Over Looking Something. I Was Wondering If The Dual Analog Is Even Supported And If So How Do I Use It. And If Not Will It Be Soon. Thanks In Advance.
I have no idea if it is the same as getting it to work on your phone as on the Shield but on my Shield to get dual analog to work right I had to open up the RGUI menu (the menu you can open when you are running a game) and go into the core options>pad 1 type and change the controller type from standard to analog. Then they worked perfectly in final fantasy 9. Before that I was having the same issue as you and trying to emulate the dpad to the analog sticks which is not correct for games that support analog. I can only assume that changing that core option is like pushing that little analog button that used to be on playstation controllers.
The above assumes your controller is supported. If it isn’t there is another thread to get it fully supported.
so i downloaded the fpse emu and got dual anolog but havent tested it on retroarch, but i read this on there forum. (in order to get dual anolog you must go to your sixaxis app and disable sixaxis controller as the input then program the controller as a keyboard emu.) This is what idid, then i went to fpsu and went to gamepad settings and then map buttons. select hw 1 and map keys one at a time, then return to sixaxis app ans go to ime settings and check the box in the sixaxis menu to enable controller and then go play. I hope this helps . I know these arent the best instructions but i hope they help. if u have any questions email me at [email protected]. also libetro u r awesome if this method doesn’t work on retroarch maybe u could use fpse and use their mapping system. thx guys
