Are shaders broken?

Hi,

I have the latest Retroarch 1.3 for android, and It mostly works all right.

However, I’m having some real difficulty with shaders. Shaders that have been confirmed with android either fail to load, or they are totally opaque, obscuring the screen instead of enhancing the video.

Is anyone else having these problems? Is there anything I can do to fix this?

You could try downloading and installing a nightly build to see if it treats you any better.

I am using the latest nightly build. Should I go back to an older Retroarch?

what android device are you using? Also have you tried downloading the shaders again using the online updater?

Nvidia Shield Tablet.

I’m trying to get Harlequin’s GB shader working, or really anything that can get the colors in Gambatte to be a DMG pea green. Any suggestions?

For the gameboy shader, try the ones in shaders_glsl/hunterk/handheld instead of shaders_glsl/handheld.

Worked like a beaut. Thanks, hunterk.

Now, I’m just trying to find a GB border overlay that will work, I’ve got one, but it’s an imperfect fit, and custom keeps cropping the picture with Gambatte.

Have you tried the ones in shaders_glsl/hunterk/handheld/console-border? They include the effect and the border in one.

I have, but they don’t load.

Thankfully, I found one of your overlays that is pretty close to perfect.
