Audio is choppy and lags the game?

I’ve been using RetroArch on iOS for the longest time, and have never had this issue. When I first started up the PC version, and booted a ROM, I noticed the sound was choppy and would sometimes lag the game. Does anyone have a solution? Please help? =(

We need more information. Which core(s), which game(s), are you using any shaders, what kind of CPU/GPU do you have?

Ignore this, for some reason I can’t delete it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Picodrive core, Sonic The Hedgehog, no, where could I find that info?

Have you tried using the genesis plus gx core instead of picodrive? On anything non-mobile, picodrive should only really be used for 32x games, AFAIK.

I also used the genesis plus gx core and the issue persisted. It’s like every once in a while it would pause for a very brief moment to continue loading the game, resulting in audio and video lag.

I have a similar problem, but it seems that is not depending on the core.

If I play contents in my secondary screen, with audio to the audio device 2 (HDMI), the game becomes slower and the audio is creepy. Moving back the video to the main monitor everything works fine…

I don’t have so much games, but for now I tested these:

Neo Turf Master - MAME - problem Micro Machines 96 - Genesis Plus GX - ok Micro Machines 96 - Picodrive - ok Dr. Robotnik Mean Bean Machine - Genesis Plus GX - ok Sonic 1 - Genesis Plus GX - problem Sonic 2 - Genesis Plus GX - problem Sonic 3 - Genesis Plus GX - problem Sonic & Knuckles - Genesis Plus GX - problem Mario Kart 64 - Mupen 64 Plus - problem (but not the same)

Mario Kart 64 has the opposite problem… the game, and the audio, is not slower than normal, but faster…

I’m using the latest development version, dated 2014-08-28.

My CPU is an Intel i5, my GPU is an Nvidia gtx550ti with windows 8.1 64 bit
