Auto Load Core with Per Core Config - Need help with Steam shortcuts

I see that v 1.3.4 removed auto loading cores when you load a core configuration. Unfortunately this seems to have broken all of my game shortcuts in Steam. Can anyone help me figure out a way to launch games through Steam with Retroarch using 1.3.4? Here’s a shortcut example I’ve been using:

“C:\Program Files\Retroarch\retroarch.exe” -f -c E:\ROMs\Retroarch\configs estopia_libretro.dll.cfg “E:\ROMs\NES\Adventure Island II.nes”

So unless something else got messed up when I updated to 1.3.4, I’m guessing because the config file doesn’t load a core anymore it will just fail to launch the game at all.

Any suggestions?

That would be perfect actually.

And I get why that feature was removed. I’ve had a lot of headaches because the wrong core was saved or loaded with the wrong config. Your solution sounds great though.

And what exactly does -L do? And for that matter, what does -C even do?

I tried your suggestion of loading the core with --config, and that worked just as well. So it’s up to you if you want to add the auto load core option or not.

This change broke my entire emulationstation setup :frowning:
