Is it possible?
Not interested in the option to auto load the auto save state on game closure as I don’t necessarily want to save every time I close a game.

There is an “autostate” feature, it’s somewhere in Settings > Saves
iirc, however i’d recommend not using it, it’s common for people to experience various issues because of it. Some cores won’t even work anymore if you enable it.
Thanks for replying, however the option you mention only works for auto save states on content closure with which every single time you close a game a save state is done and the auto load state only works with this one and not with manual save states (if I understand the feature well). I am looking to auto load save state slot 0 which is the only slot I use 99% of the times.
Doesn’t “auto load state” without “auto save state” do what you want?
Unfortunately it doesn’t.
The only option is to use the -1 auto slot for manual saving and automatic loading.
That works thanks, just a bit cumbersome to change the slot for each new game. I’ll do that when using android, on Windows I use LaunchBox and it looks like you can add a command line parameter to the start of the emulator to load state 0 always.
All good a cfg override will keep that slot for content directory or core wide
