Bad performance of arcade stick

Hello. I have RetroArch installed on a PC running Ubuntu (22.04.4 LTS). The PC is a bit old, it has an Intel Core i5-2310 2.90 GHz CPU, an AMD Caicos graphics card and 4 Gb of RAM. It has almost nothing installed, apart from Mozilla Firefox. I bought a double arcade controller like this one:

and it has the Daemon Encoder USB NO-LAG Xinput for many platforms, PC included.

The thing is that the arcade games run well, they are fluid, the buttons work well but the joysticks have some lag or something; If I move it to the right (or up or down or whatever) it sometimes has a delayed response or sometimes doesn’t respond at all, making it quite frustrating to play games like Pac Man.

I don’t have much experience in this world, but I will provide any information that is needed to fix this problem. Thanks in advance.

To start troubleshooting, you could do two quick tests:

  1. Does another controller (or even the keyboard) exhibit the same laggy behavior inside RetroArch?
  2. Does your arcade stick exhibit the same laggy behavior with other emulators (not only RetroArch)?
