Beagleboard/Bone with Retroarch

Has anyone tried Retroarch with the Beagleboard/Bone? If so what kind of performance did you see with SNES? Does NES work?

Thanks!

I don’t think anyone has tried it, specifically, but it should be fine. You may need to use the Raspberry Pi port. SNES will probably be confined to the BeagleBone, if that, since a lot of reasonably powerful Android phones struggle with SNES.

I looked at the specs - a 720MHz Cortex A8. Pretty weak but still a lot more powerful than a Raspberry Pi.

On such weak hardware you will really want to avoid Android though - according to their website you can run Ubuntu on it as an alternative so that should help.

Definitely avoid Android if you can and run ARM Linux native on it - audio and video latency should be much better on RetroArch (and performance as well).

I’m about to try it on a beagle bone black. Will update for anyone else who stumbles across this.
