I’ve been using the Beetle core for SNES but it doesn’t have multitap. What do you guys think the best SNES core is?
snes9x, bsnes and mesen-s are all great options.
Snes9 and Bsnes have like six different versions and I cannot find Mesen-s in the online updater.
make sure your info files are updated (via online updater), as mesen-s is fairly new. For the others, snes9x without a year stamp is a good place to start (as a rule of thumb with libretro cores, the one without a year is the newest/most up-to-date and the years are snapshots that are faster but less accurate, typically for use on low-power devices).
Yes, the number of bsnes cores is daunting/confusing. bsnes-mercury-balanced or simply ‘bsnes’ are a good place to start.
