Bind controller to keyboard?

I’m trying to use retro arch and my control’s I want to use for now is a standard keyboard. I can’t seem to get the keys to bind. If I go into input and select retrokeyboard and go through the keybindings (only get 4 seconds to select a key) when I get through all the key’s my keyboard doesn’t seem to work anymore and I can’t save the config or do anyting but exit by hitting escape. How do I set this up so I’m using a keyboard as the controller?

The retropad buttons control the menu as well, so if you re-bind ‘B’ or ‘A’, it’s going to change your cancel/accept buttons, too. I suspect your issue is related to this.

RetroArch already starts with default keybinds of Z = B, X = A, A = Y, S = X, Q = L1, W = R1, Tab = Select, Enter = Start.
