Can I install Lakka on a read-only file system?

I have the experience of sd card corruption on my Raspberry Pi, filesystem got damaged if power supply was outage while running or the wire got unplugged by accident.

Finally, this article saved my life and helped me to turn my R-Pi into a read-only system.

As far as I remember, retro consoles are very robust, which means, it will never be damaged if some one plug or unplug the wires arbitrarily. And now, Lakka turns a mini-pc or r-pi into an console like system, can it be as robust as the old consoles ?

All the entertainment appliances should be strong enough, like my DVD-player or old SEGA Genesis, I never heard that someone had to re-flash the system image for his DVD-player or SEGA Genesis, but if I will face it every day if Lakka cannot run on a read-only filesystem.

Is there any plan to enable Lakka run in a read-only mode ?? or any way to turn Lakka into a read-only system after installation and configuration ??
