Can NVRAM overwrite control configurations?

Hi all, Most of my FBA roms work fine, but some are not getting initialized with my default controls, they load but I can’t start them because my select button (used to insert coin) is not configured. I’ve noticed that these roms are a bit different, they create an nv file in the first execution. I’m not sure what is stored in these nv files, but I assume this is messing my controls schema. Could it be?

One of the games is “ssf2t.zip” - Super Street Fighter II Turbo. Does anyone know how to fix this ?

It seems that I’m not able to avoid this nv file:

Street Fighter III (Series)There is no avoiding the NVRAM initialization process. In order to use any game that is not labeled as NO CD, the game must be allowed to create a complete and valid NVRAM file.

Check the core options. You should have one named ‘controls’. If it’s set to gamepad, it will shuffle some games’ controls around to be easier to play on a gamepad. If you set it to ‘arcade’, it should stop doing that.
