So why does not work?
There was a bug in 1.7.7 that caused --log-file not to work. It’s fixed in the nightlies. Or, you can turn on ‘show advanced options’ in settings > user interface, then go to settings > logging and set ‘logging verbosity’ to DEBUG and ‘log to file’ to ON.
