Cant get PSX to work no matter what i do! What gives?

Im trying my hardest and ive run out of things i can do, id love some help from the real pros here!

We need a log to really know what’s going on, but it’s almost always: 1.) wrong BIOS 2.) misnamed BIOS 3.) BIOS not in system folder (or system folder not defined) 4.) not using bin/cue 5.) malformed cue sheets 6.) some combination of the above

What kind of log can i help to provide?

I have the 3 bios. Bios is in system folder. Using .bin and .cue, no idea what malformed cue sheets are

run retroarch-debug in a console window or create a shortcut to it run it like this: retroarch-debug --verbose --menu > log.txt 2>&1

But hunterk is right, those are the common issues http://wiki.libretro.com/index.php?title=Beetle/Mednafen_PSX#Usage

just crashes, nothing. no text.

Ok, we can check whether it’s the BIOS without actually loading anything. Load up the core but not any content, then go to information > core information. It will list all of the BIOS files it needs along with their checksums and it will tell you if it’s finding them okay or not. If it says they’re missing, correct that. If it says they’re found, your problem is with the cue sheets, probably.

Everything is there. Thats so weird.

Open a cmd prompt cd into the retroarch folder run it like this retroarch-debug --verbose --menu > log.txt 2>&1

the log should be in the text file

‘retroarch-debug’ is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

retroarch_debug.exe --verbose --menu > log.txt 2>&1

you probably have one menu driver in your main cfg and another in the mednafen_psx cfg

How do i fix that?

How do i remedy that?

Find all of your cfg files and search for ‘menu_driver’ to see if they have different options.

menu_driver = “xmb”

One in mednafen cfg and on in retroarch cfg. What to do?

Cant get to the problem googled this and it seems im running out of ideas.

If you turn off per-core configs, does it still crash?

Crash, same thing. Damn this problem is real.

ok, can you run it through gdb and get a backtrace? Instructions for that are in this post: http://libretro.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5114&p=34581&viewfull=1#post34581
