Can't get retroarch to autoload my shader preset

I have saved a shader preset as the default for the mame core that I’m using but every time I load up the same game it never applies it for me and I have to manually go in and apply the shader again. I double checked to see if the preset is saved and its in my Retroarch > config > MAME > MAME.slangp so I know the file is there, but why doesn’t retroarch automatically load it?

I’m on Windows 10 and using Retroarch v1.20.0 and MAME 0.273 core.

I can’t replicate with Windows 10, and the core does not matter.

Perhaps log has some info.

Maybe there’s another type of preset that’s overriding it, for example a game or content directory preset.
