Can't install windows 98 on Dosbox Pure

Hey guys,

I’ve tried to hunt for loads of win98 SE images on archive.org both with or without boot IMG. I only get the option to boot the OS from disk but not to install it, when I do so I then get an error that I have no C drive and don’t know what to do, is there a way to create a C drive first and then launch the OS install?

You need the OEM version i think

Have you tried just using a simple ISO and loading that with the core? Then in the DOSBox UI “Boot and install a new OS”. And when the ISO is booted choose “2. Boot from CDRom” (which may be unintuitive but that’s just Windows).

Try this version

Pretty sure it’s the one i’m using.

Strange thing is, with a fresh install you should get a screen from DOSBox Pure asking what virtual disk size you want to create.

If you check in your /retroarch/System folder, maybe there’s already an .img file in there, from a previous attempt? But not mounting correctly because broken? If so, maybe try and remove it?

Found the issue, I had a core option enabled that prevented new OS creation… Anyways thanks for your help
