Can't Launch Games, Stuck at RGUI screen

I’ve just installed RetroArch on my phone, never used it before on any platform.

My phone is a Nexus 5 running Android 5.0.1. I have a collection of NES roms that end in .nes and I’ve previously used (other emulators). When I load content (ROM) and core (tried all 3 NES cores) either separately, or using Detect Core, it takes me to a gray screen with a green border, saying:

<blah blah blah>
Press Accept/OK to continue

  • My brief reading around doesn’t describe this, says the game should just launch
  • I don’t seem to be able to “Press Accept/OK”, the screen appears to be unresponsive to any touch/input I can think to try
  • I’ve tried setting input methods following instructions I’ve seen, not sure if the problem is just that?
  • Even the Android Back button doesn’t work

Hoping I’m missing something basic, very confused.

Not sure which changed things, but when I 1) Rebooted my phone 2) Temporarily set my input overlay to keyboard qwerty It started working.

Hope this helps someone else. Couldn’t figure out how to edit my original post to set it to [RESOLVED]
