Can't run CPS2 games

Hi all. First of all. I’m loving the emu. Its a great thing to have “one emu to rule them all…” :stuck_out_tongue:

So I’ve being playing a lot of PSX games that I used to play back in the days I had a PS One at home (Castelvania SOTN and MMX4 work flawlessly :D) So congrats to all involved on the project coz its the best thing there is out there for retro gamers as well as mobile gamers.

The thing that now that I wish to play CPS2 games I copy my old mame working roms and when I find them on my internal storage does not open. The first thing I thought of was “old romset” so I went on the net to download the latest MVC, AVP and SFA3 and once again the same :frowning:

So is there any additional cfg to do besides downloading the emu and the ROM for CPS2 games? I understand that for NeoGeo roms I’ll need neogeo.zip so I’ll try that one later.

Please help. Once again congrats on a great emu for the community.

It’s almost certainly a ROMset mismatch. FBA tries to sync to the latest MAME, but sometimes there’s a little bit of lag between the two. I haven’t tried CPS2 games in a while, but I previously had good luck with 1.42 ROMs. Those are getting pretty out-of-date these days, though, so they may have moved on by now.

You need to use Final Burn Alpha 02.97.28 roms. Google search “fba roms” for a site with compatible roms and Neo Geo bios etc. Check your PMs for more details I will send you.

Excellent. thanks for the tip. Now works like a charm. What about CPS3 can I play 3rd impact here?
