Can't run retroarch on my PC

Hi guys!

Recently I pick an old PC (9 years, ASRock, Pentium D 2,8GHz, 2GB RAM, Radeon X300/x550/x1050 series, Windows 7 32bits). I’ve already installed directx11 and VS C++ 2010.

Then I downloaded last two versions of retroarch (1.3.2 and 1.3.4) for traying with both. And both give me the same problem. When I execute retroarch, Windows show the famous window…“retroarch.exe has stopped running”.

I’ve already tried activating DEP and It doesn’t works.

Can you help me please??

Do you have directx 9.0c redist installed, as well? You might also need to modify your retroarch.cfg in a text editor to change menu_driver = “xmb” to menu_driver = “rgui”

I would consider running linux instead of windows 7 if it’s a machine dedicated to emulation, you’ll have more resources availables.

By the way, X300 is directx 9.0b / opengl 2.1 only (actually i’m not sure windows driver are opengl 2.1 ready, seems like they are opengl 2.0)

Edit : i would consider buying a cheap gtx 710 if you want vulkan or recent opengl support, especially if you want n64 or psx emulation.
