Hello there,
i cant use the latest stable build (1.7.7) on my Ouya anymore. It stops extracting at 35% on initial start.
1.7.5 extracts flawlessly.

Ok, got it extracted, but it keeps crashing unfortunately. Need to go back to 1.7.5. 
I had the same issue. What I eventually did was to exit out of the installation and then do a second install and it eventually installed. Also, Retroarch 64 will not work on an OUYA, it needs to be the 32 bit version. I hope this helps.
