Game i’m using is megaman battle network 3 - blue version - European.
the cheat file list exactly that version, blue, european one.
NONE of the cheats work, despite making sure that the first one , the master cheat, is on
any help?

It’s possible that VBA might not have cheat support. I would suggest using MGBA (it support cheats) instead. It’s better than VBA in every way.
Yeah I’m trying different cores. Mgba unfortunately just abruptly crashs back in to the ui as soon as i start the game and yes i have the correct bios, in fact other cores lik gpsp (which i tried, and again no cheats work) runs fine
don’t work at all on my end. how can i check the log like you did?
found the culprit

keep in mind i’m just using the cheats found on retroarch database. i even updated them fro m"online updater" but still it says the codes are incorrect
where did you got them?
should i update them manually from the repository?
online updater should be fine. else you can manually compile
no i meant downloading them from the nightly site
Updating them through online updater worked. thanks
