I’ve tried creating some topics to little success (some, but little) so I’m not sure if my questions are inappropriate or foolish, but I feel this may be the silliest of all so far. Please be cool.

Since my attempt to find answers on using downloaded memory card saves failed, I figured I could get around my issues using cheats. However, no documentation exists about using cheats in retroarch. Does a tutorial exist that would teach how to rig cheats? Is there a way to use the Game Shark iso? Will PSX cheat support ever be added to retroarch?

Any light shined on this would be much appreciated.

Cheats aren’t hooked up or most cores right now, though there are some ideas for how to do it universally.

In the meantime, you should be able to use downloaded memory cards just by renaming them to match RetroArch’s saves.

Any thoughts on these ideas of using cheats universally?

It will take sometime before cheats work universally. Memory cards should be stored under your save directory, at least for mednafen-psx. I guess you use PCSX-ReARMed since you’re in android, not sure in that case, it’s either your save or your system directory

So then if I were to, say, download a memory card save from the internet and I put it where retroarch is looking for “saves” it should show up on my memory card in the game I’m playing? Because it’s not showing up. Again, pardon my probable newbiness.

It depends on the core and the version. It has to be named exactly like your cue sheet but with MCR or SRM extension. I guess MCR since you’re on android

One last question if I may: if it is a 2 disc game and the names end with “disc 1” and “disc 2”. What should I do? Its a save that basically is as if I beat the game. Should I name it after disc 2?

Edit: I should mention that I made a save on the memory card and I can’t find it in my file manager in my phone. However, it shows up if I start the game and load the save, it appears. What gives?

Hi I am trying to get some help how using Cheats on Retroarch using the Commodore Plus 4 (Vice). Is their another part of this forum for that?

So I’m trying to find out… do Commodore Cheat Codes work if you type them in cheats part of RetroArch? Cheats work on Sega games for me… but I cant get the Commodore ones to work when I manually type them in to RetroArch.

Maybe its a known fact you cant type Commodore Cheats into RetroArch?
