Config question about 4DO and MESS cores

Hey guys can someone help me out with some questions???

4DO: I have sound issues with a couple of games for example Way of the warrior has a lot of sound skipping during gameplay. Is there a way to fix this?

Mess: I never used this core/emulator before but i want it t use this for some old atari stuff (Atari 5200 maybe ST) but the core kicks me back to the home screen when i try to load a rom… So what do i need to do to play atari 5200 games? Do i need bios files? what kinda filename does the roms need to have?

wow!!! Is it really that hard ??? I dont even understand what i;m reading;( Not really a expert at this and my english isnt very good. I only want to play the Atari 5200 version of Gremlins so maybe someone can help me with some easy instructions for dummies like me

Did you try UME instead of MESS?
