Could we get adaptive smoothing for the N64?

The adaptive smoothing feature in the Vulkan PSX renderer is fantastic, smoothing 2D backgrounds while leaving 3D stuff untouched. It would be great to get this for the N64 as well, since high-res rendering makes the 3D look great but the 2D stuff (particularly fonts and HUD elements) look very ugly. Is there any chance of that happening?

probably not, as it’s something that’s specific to the way the vulkan-psx renderer works. However, there are some shaders that will detect 3D vs 2D and only touch the 2D elements. In the xbr subdirectory of the shaders, check out any of the ones with ‘3d’ in the name.
