CRT Simulation GPU Shader

I saw the recent tweet from the libretro guys about the CRT Simulation GPU Shader, and looked at the related article, https://blurbusters.com/crt-simulation-in-a-gpu-shader-looks-better-than-bfi/

It sounds exciting, and I’m wondering if anyone has played any games with this and can comment on it for the rest of us?

I don’t have any high-refresh monitors to tell for sure, but I suspect it will be slightly worse on motion clarity than a traditional full-frame-flicker BFI but should look less obtrusive for most people, including avoiding the ugly effect that traditional BFI has on colors (that is, making everything look very drab and lifeless).
