Default roms directory/FBA game names/Doom music

Hi,

Full enjoying RetroArch on my PS3. Few of questions surrounding the latest version.

  1. I can’t seem to get the default directory to lock down, currently set for usb/roms/, the emulator defaults to the root every time.

  2. For FBA is it possible to restore FBA to show the actual names of the games as opposed to the zip files name? Better to navigate for obvious reasons.

  3. If I understand it correctly, prboom does support music associated to each game. Currently I can only get the sound effects working. What do I need for the music? Does it need mp3’s?

  1. Yes, this option seems to not work in the 0.9.7 release of RetroArch on PS3. Will be fixed for the next version.

  2. There might or might not be an option like that. Neither libretro or RetroArch is currently setup for showing a ‘game list’ screen like that.

  3. There is a readme file included with RetroArch PS3 - prboom-soundtrack-list.txt or something like that. In it, I list all the Mp3 files that prboom supports. You need to put MP3 files called like this in the same directory where your DOOM wad can be found.

Yes, at the moment it only supports MP3. I could throw in OPL emulation later but that soundcard kinda sucks in retrospect anyways - much better to be playing Doom with the PSX soundtrack in MP3 format instead IMHO.
