DeSmuME

The whole app store / microtransaction mentality has been a poison for open source developers, and it’s brought out a bunch of unscrupulous swindlers who are happy to repackage other people’s work and charge for it.

It’s a shitty situation and, in the end, everyone is getting screwed. Devs figure “if it’s going to get ripped off and sold anyway, I may as well be the one getting paid,” which makes sense, but is pretty cynical all the same.

Could single lcd screen view be implemented so games that use mostly one screen could run at higher magnification in fullscreen? And then also the ability to switch the screens with a hotkey (spacebar/pgdn)? Both of these are in the original Windows build. I tried also in Linux but had performance issues I couldn’t figure out so it would be nice to add to libretro. Also, desmume by itself is pretty bad at maintaining a good vsync so libretro is needed for that.

I was playing around with the stand alone Windows port the other day and discovered that single LCD plus a button for switching between them works really well for the DS Castlevanias. That port doesn’t let me map the switch key to a button directly though. Had to map it to a key, then use Xpadder to map the key to a button. The syncing plus lack of any filters I like in the standard Windows port makes me anticipate this core working on Windows.

Now that this core is available for windows. Is it possible to display just one LCD and switch between them ? pgup/pgdn don’t seem to work.

I second this request. It would be an excellent feature.

I was playing Super Princess Peach where they ask you to blow in the mic in a minigame and in a submarine level. I saw there is a key for desmume standalone ( ’ ) but couldn’t do this in retroarch.

Another feature that would be great to have would be an empty space between each screens in vertical arrangement to be close to the original machine.
