Any plans to implement the dipswitch settings in the MAME or FBA cores? It’s probably not a major issue for most games, but I play a lot of Neo Geo fighters and AES mode is the only way to get training mode, which is kind of a big deal. It’s one of the few options in stock FBA that I can’t seem to gain access to in RA.
You can reach MAME options via the cores’ OSD in Linux using the keyboard, but that hasn’t been implemented yet in Windows. It’s being looked at, though, so perhaps that will be hooked up soon.
Probably should have mentioned I’m on Windows. Not used to any software that runs on all OS’s and phones and mobiles and handhelds and consoles and god damn everything.
So yeah, Windows soon maybe. Good to know, thanks for the reply.
Heh, no problem. I took a guess based on some context clues
I’m assuming those context clues were
“Registered: Today” “Posts: 1” “How do I into emulator”
You can bring up the OSD in the 0.150 MAME core on Windows by pressing whatever you have assigned as L2, then use the dpad and R2 to navigate. You can change dipswitch and BIOS settings there just like in normal MAME, but your settings might not stick due to a bug with cfg writing. I added that issue to git.
It doesn’t look like I can set AES mode in Neo Geo games, so while that does help, it still doesn’t have quote what I’m looking for. Thanks for the heads up though, the MAME menu at least helps for changing the controls in game so I can fix the Neo Geo button mappings being wrong.
You should be able to select universe bios and then use that to get into AES mode. http://unibios.free.fr/howitworks.html tells you how to use the universe bios. I’m not sure if any options you change in that bios will stick or if you have to go into it and change to AES mode every time you start up a game though.
