Directory scanner skips half my ROMs

I can’t find a straight answer on how to fix this. Things about checksums, unzipping the ROMs, etc. It’s happening on NES and SNES and I don’t like having to go through the directory to open single files. I don’t care about checksums and such, I know these are working ROMs and I doubt there even is a checksum and what not for the hacks, unlicensed, and translations. Is there a quick fix for this? Even Super Mario World and Chrono Trigger aren’t adding to the list and it takes a minute to get through to where I store my ROMs (my desktop). I suppose I could move them to C:, but I’d rather them stay here.

I also don’t think I’d care to use Launchbox with Retroarch since I’m still learning to tweak RA to he the way I want it and would rather wait before I decided to do that.

The only fix recommended was disabling “sort by compatible filetypes” and load the core before scanning, but that didn’t work.

That said, I really love Retroarch. A lot! Just got it yesterday and wish I had gotten it much sooner.

Correct, our databases are based on No-Intro DATs and don’t include hacks or translations. Currently, your best bet is to use a separate tool to generate your playlists based on directory contents alone, such as RetroInvader: http://romjacket.mudlord.info/INVADER/index.html

Ahh, thank you! This worked great! Why doesn’t it just pick up the ROMs, though? Or maybe just an option for a file list where you can browse the files from a default directory where the playlists are like the homebrew emulators for Wii?
