Does lowering the audio output increase the global performance?

Hi Guys,

the wiki suggests to lower a bit the audio output rate to improve the frames rate, if I dramatically low down the output quality like 32Khz or 22.05Khz does it bring any improvement to global experience (with a lower audio quality)?

Thanks,

D.

I believe that document is suggesting that some sound cards want to output a certain rate and not being at that rate causes another round of resampling to get it to the appropriate rate. That is, I don’t think it’s suggesting that lower audio rates make higher performance. It’s still having to be resampled either way.

At this point I’ll try to see what actually is going to happen…

You were right, it doesn’t change anything. Laggy sound still continues to be laggy, no improvement unfortunately :frowning:
