Driver 2 no memory card found?

I wasn’t sure where to post this so I apologise if this isn’t the correct place.

Does anyone know how to get ingame saves working for “Driver 2” using the Beetle PSX HW core? If I try and save I’m just greeted with the following.

Driver%202%20(US)%20-%20(Disc%201%20of%202)-180908-200234
Driver 2 (US) - (Disc 1 of 2)-180908-200234.jpg1920×1440 480 KB

The Beetle PSX core has the same issue also, only the PCSX ReARMed core appears to work in this regard.

I have the same problem… interestingly the memory card works in other games but not in Driver 2.

Unfortunately I never did resolve the issue.
