DualShock 4 rev2 controller vibration (rumble)

Has anyone had any success in getting a DualShock 4 rev 2 controller vibration/rumble effect to work in RetroArch? I’m running the controller connected directly to my PC with USB. Everything else with the controller works fine except no Rumbles.

My XBox One Controller rumbles work without issue.

Running latest version of Windows 10 Pro.

I figured out a way to make it work. I’m guessing this is what everyone is doing and it works fine:

You run that software and on the “Settings” tab check the box “Hide DS4 Controller”. Supposedly this allows the controller to use the Xbox controller Windows drivers, allowing it more compatibility on the PC. RetroArch detects it as an “EasySMX” controller for some reason, but the rumble seems to work now so it’s a good enough workaround.

Almost 3 years later, the Dualshock 4 vibration still not natively supported by Retroarch? Other emulators like RPCS3 or Yuzu, Cemu all detect the rumble motors, without third party software like DS4Windows. Why is that?
