Enjoy playing 4 players on Retroarch

hey everyone,

I uploaded a tutorial on how to pair 4 ps3 controllers with retroarch step by step. most cores support 2 players but N64 and Pc Engine support 4 players. Some games on Pc engine support up to 5 players like bomberman. I also enabled multitap on super nintendo (Snes9x Next) to support 4 players, but I couldn’t enable multitap on psx core. I hope the dev enable multitap on psx.

here is the tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpRHlGw2Gvo

Thanks for posting this

It’s a frequent question that I have no experience with, so I’m sure this will be very helpful for many people.

Quick question:

Do you need to setup the configuration for each ‘player’ if you select ‘sixaxis controller’ in the RetroArch settings icon menu…‘thing’ when a game is running (gui? - I’m not sure what it is called :stuck_out_tongue: I remember the ‘gui’ name being used in the overlay files I think =| ). I know it works for player 1, but I’m just not sure if it works for 2+ players or not.

Also, like to add that Controllers for all isn’t needed - since its a paid tweak I think that is quite essential, while its easier to install, BTStack is all that is needed and its free. And I would also presume that if the above works then neither is springswitch.

Anyway, still a great tutorial for someone that doesn’t know how to add controllers etc yet

hey Platypus if you see the tutorial shows that you don’t need to map the buttons or anything only transfer the config files connect and play. you said i am sure one controller works but not sure about the second, in video i showed the 4 controllers connected and i used them all to play N64 mario kart 4 split screens. about switchspring it’s good to have it because switching between btstack and iOS bluetooth always causes issue best the solution for this is to reboot or restart(using switchspring). Follow the tutorial and I guarantee you will be happy and you will not have any pairing issue, all the issue has been solved in the tutorial.
