Hey there,
when I start up retroarch I get the following message: “[config]: config directory not set, cannot save configuration”.
I cannot automatically download cores, save settings or create savestates.
What am I doing wrong?
Best regards!

Sounds like you might have installed it into a location that it doesn’t have permission to write to, such as Program Files. The easiest solution, if that’s the case, would be to install it somewhere in your user path, like ‘Documents’.
You are correct! This is where I have installed it. I will reinstall it and report.
Edit: It worked! Thank you very much!
Awesome! I’m glad that got you fixed up, and thanks for reporting the success (i.e., instead of leaving a dangling thread forever lol)
