F-Zero X crashes after a while with all N64 cores

Hello everyone.

F-Zero X is one of my favorite games but unfortunately I am unable to make progress. The game always crashes on “Mute City 2” track after a few seconds. Other tracks seem fine. I’ve tested the ROM with other emulators and it worked without issues.

I tried tinkering with settings, even changed interpreter type. I was able to play a little more with that but after the second or third lap it crashed again.

Strangely, Wipeout 64, a similar futuristic racing game also crashes after playing it for a few seconds. I don’t know what causes this behavior. Can anyone please help me to overcome this issue?

I don’t have this issue, AFAICT. Can you get a log of a crash?

Hey thanks for the reply. Sorry for being annoying but I don’t know how to take a crash log. The emulator simply closes itself without showing anything.

If I’m not mistaken it only happens after selecting Queen’s Cup (second cup) and Mute City 2 (4th track).

Hi, I’ve tried to replicate the bug, but the game worked fine for me. I’ve finished the first four tracks, including Mute City 2 on novice difficulty on the queen cup. I’m using ParaLLEl core with cxd4 and angrylion as rsp and graphics plugins, all other settings are on default. Using Windows 10.

Thank you very much for taking your time to help me. Unfortunately I’m on Android and I can’t change graphics plugins. Also, iirc, Windows version has better N64 emulation

EDIT: I changed the plugins as you told. The game crashed before the race even began.
